relative distinguished name

relative distinguished name: The part of the object name that identifies the object as unique from its siblings at its level in the naming hierarchy. For example, in the distinguished name CN=My Name,CN=Users,DC=Microsoft,DC=Com the relative distinguished name of the user object is My Name. The relative distinguished name of the user object's parent object is Users.
