DHCP release message (DHCPRELEASE): A message sent by clients to the DHCP server to indicate release of its leased IP address. The client uses this message to cancel its currently active lease. You can perform address release manually using the ipconfig /release command at a command prompt. The DHCP release message name is DHCPRELEASE.
